Devbridge Foundation has launched a partnership with the Lithuanian Free Market Institute (LLRI) to provide 150 Lithuanian economics teachers with practical tools that help them engage students in classroom discussions about freedom, responsibility, and value-based decision-making.
The Foundation believes that a strong economy is powered by bold and thoughtful individuals. A strong economy starts with young people who think critically, act courageously, and understand values. By investing in people, we invest in the nation’s economic future - from children in the classroom to the country’s GDP.
The initiative, titled “Economics in Action”, encourages teachers not only to deepen their knowledge of economics but also to integrate it with civic education, ethics, and life skills. Through the program, teachers will gain access to Prospera Academy’s textbooks and teaching resources, participate in seminars and webinars, and bring innovative learning materials to classrooms across the country.
A survey conducted in August 2025 among Lithuanian economics and entrepreneurship teachers revealed that:
90% lack sufficient digital teaching tools;
More than half struggle with the shortage of textbooks, workbooks, and teacher guides.
These findings highlight the urgent need to strengthen the methodological and digital base of economics education in Lithuanian schools.
Through Prospera Academy, Devbridge Foundation and LLRI aim to:
Increase teachers’ access to innovative economics and integrated ethics and civics textbooks;
Strengthen teachers’ competencies by providing practical classroom tools and methodologies;
Build a community of educators who share best practices;
Encourage public dialogue on the connection between economic education, ethics, and civic responsibility.
By September 2026, the initiative will deliver two practical train-the-trainer workshops and two webinars for teachers. Participants will receive access to Prospera Academy’s educational resources, including international award-winning textbooks “Economics in 31 Hours,” “I, Citizen,” and “Citizen in 31 Hours.”
By the end of the project:
More than 1,000 educators will be empowered to teach economics through the lens of freedom and responsibility;
Prospera Academy’s content will reach over 80,000 students across Lithuania;
At least 50 teachers will join the Prospera teaching network, sharing knowledge and driving change in their communities;
The initiative will engage over 100,000 citizens and opinion leaders in public discussions on the link between economics and freedom.
The project aims to create a culture of freedom and responsibility — an ecosystem that empowers educators to connect economic phenomena with moral and civic decision-making.
