Partnering with bit&Byte to bring STEAM scholarships to children in regional communities

Devbridge Foundation has partnered with bit&Byte to help close the opportunity gap between children in cities and regions, ensuring that innovative knowledge and future-ready skills are accessible to all. By providing STEAM scholarships to children in regional communities, the initiative reflects one of the Foundation’s core priorities: expanding access to innovative learning. Through creative technologies, digital skills, and new learning models, the partnership empowers children to discover their potential early and prepare for a fast-changing world.

Initiative Goals

  • Enable regional children to strengthen their creative and digital competences through innovative STEAM experiences.

  • Reach at least 100 children from a minimum of 8 Lithuanian regions, with a strong focus on 5th–8th grade students.

  • Launch the development of a digital micro-credentials model.

Expected Outcomes

  • Over 100 children from at least 8 regions take part in continous creative technology activities and receive scholarships for free participation.

  • At least 60% of participants are 5th–8th graders, with engagement and digital skills progress.

  • About 70% of participants report greater motivation and willingness to continue in STEAM.

  • The first steps taken towards a micro-credential framework mark an initial move toward making digital skills gained in non-formal education recognised as part of a child’s academic journey.
