Devbridge Foundation is contributing to meaningful change in education by funding a new initiative, Learn on.AI. The program will introduce engaging and personalized artificial intelligence tools, developed by Lithuanian startups, into schools across the country.
Over the course of the 2025–2026 academic year, the initiative is expected to help more than 1,000 teachers and over 12,000 students from approximately 50 schools in Lithuanian cities and regional communities develop new skills.
Focusing on Regional Schools
The Learn on.AI initiative will place a strong emphasis on Lithuania’s regions, where AI tools are either rarely used or not yet integrated into the educational process. According to the project’s creators, the goal is to contribute to the progress of Lithuania’s education system precisely where support is needed most.

“Today, education faces a complex set of challenges. There is not only a shortage of teachers dealing with overwhelming workloads, but also a lack of methodological resources, while Lithuanian students still lag behind their peers in other Baltic countries. That is why we aim to bring into schools not generic AI tools, but partner-developed EdTech solutions aligned with Lithuania’s curriculum and tailored specifically to our educational community. This initiative is not only an opportunity to strengthen the country’s education system, but also a way to encourage innovation and investment,” says Viktoras Gurgždys, one of the founders of Devbridge Foundation.
Bridging the Educational and Technological Divide
According to the initiative’s creators, the decision to focus primarily on regional schools was driven by concerning trends. Only 31% of children living in Lithuania’s regions currently plan to pursue university education. Significant disparities in academic achievement also remain, while the technological divide between students who know how to use AI tools and those who do not continues to grow.
The initiative aims to ensure that by 2030, every classroom in Lithuania will not only have access to AI tools, but also possess the skills to use them effectively and responsibly.
This goal will be supported through AI-powered educational solutions developed by Lithuanian startups Alfa erdvė, Elicėjus, and EDITAi, funded by Devbridge Foundation and adapted specifically for schools.
The initiative includes three tools designed for students in grades 1–12 and their teachers:
two personalized digital mathematics learning platforms,
and an AI assistant created specifically for educators.
Education Is Deeply Personal to Us
According to Gintarė Dzindzelėtaitė-Kelmelė, education is a deeply personal and value-driven priority for the foundation’s team. Many of the foundation’s founders and team members have personally experienced how access to education, inspiring teachers, and knowledge can fundamentally change a person’s life trajectory.

“Today, the most important thing is to respond to the challenges emerging in the education sector. We want to build a competitive ecosystem that demonstrates the real impact AI can have on school communities. Equally important is ensuring that schools trust AI tools and use them ethically — from both the teacher’s and the student’s perspective. We hope Learn on.AI will inspire others to take similar steps and help schools integrate artificial intelligence responsibly in ways that create measurable impact,” says Dzindzelėtaitė-Kelmelė.
School Registration Open Until September 30
Schools can apply to participate in the new initiative until September 30. All schools from Lithuanian cities and towns are eligible to register, with the exception of privately owned institutions operating under UAB status. However, at the foundation’s request, priority will be given to regional schools.
Selection criteria, funding methods, and implementation processes will be determined and managed by the organizations developing and deploying the AI tools.
