Partnering with bit&Byte to bring STEAM scholarships to children in regional communities

Devbridge Foundation has partnered with bit&Byte to help close the opportunity gap between children in cities and regions, ensuring that innovative knowledge and future-ready skills are accessible to all. By providing STEAM scholarships to children in regional communities, the initiative reflects one of the Foundation’s core priorities: expanding access to innovative learning. Through creative technologies, digital skills, and new learning models, the partnership empowers children to discover their potential early and prepare for a fast-changing world.

Second-Year Initiative Goals

  • Expand access to innovative STEAM education for children living in regional communities across Lithuania.

  • Strengthen creative thinking, digital literacy, and problem-solving skills through hands-on technology learning experiences.

  • Reach at least 210 children from different regions of Lithuania, with a particular focus on students in grades 5–8.

  • Encourage children to become confident creators of technology and active participants in the digital world.

Expected Outcomes

  • More than 110 children will receive scholarships to participate in ongoing STEAM activities free of charge in 2026-2027 school year.

  • At least 70% of participants will be students in grades 5–8, with their engagement and digital skills development continuously monitored.

  • The first steps toward developing a micro-credential system will help lay the foundation for recognizing digital skills gained through non-formal education as part of a child’s academic progress.

  • Increased access to future-focused learning opportunities will help reduce the digital opportunity gap between urban and regional communities.
